Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Meros ("Meros", "we", "us"), operated by Neutech, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Meros mobile application and related services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, phone number, username, date of birth, and, if you choose to add one, a profile photo.

Sign-in with Google or Apple. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from that provider. We never receive your password for those accounts.

Contacts (optional). If you grant the contacts permission, we access your device's contact list solely to help you find and invite friends. You can use Meros without granting this permission.

Location (optional). If you grant the location permission, we use your device's precise location to show places near you. You can use Meros without granting this permission.

Content you create. Lists, saved places, likes, follows, and other content and interactions you create in the app.

Device and usage information. Device type, operating system, app version, language, and app interaction events (for example, which features are used), including crash and performance data.

2. How we use your information

• Provide and operate the Service: accounts, lists, social features, and search;
• Show places and recommendations relevant to you, including near your location when permitted;
• Help you connect with friends when you choose to use contact invitations;
• Send service notifications (for example, sign-in verification codes and activity updates);
• Maintain safety and security, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms;
• Improve the Service through aggregate usage analysis;
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Google — Maps, Places, and Sign-In services used inside the app (place search, maps rendering, authentication), subject to Google's Privacy Policy;
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, when you choose it;
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure that hosts our servers and stores our data;
• Firebase (Google) — push notification delivery;
• Authorities, when required by applicable law.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can deactivate or permanently delete your account and associated data at any time in the app under Profile → Settings, or by emailing support@merosai.com. Permanent deletion requests are honored within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the Brazilian LGPD), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• Restrict or object to certain processing;
• Withdraw consent at any time (for example, revoking the contacts or location permission in your device settings);
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and industry-standard security practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

7. International transfers

Our servers are hosted on AWS in the United States. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, with safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable law.

8. Children

Meros is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
